Registered Keeper (V5C)

All vehicles should have an up to date V5C or logbook, this document contains information about the registered keeper and Vehicle

  • Name and address of the vehicles registered keeper.
  • Information about the vehicle, including the make, model, colour and engine size.
  • The date the vehicle was first registered.

The registered keeper is not necessarily the owner of the vehicle, however it is the responsibility of the registered keeper to ensure that the vehicle is taxed, and that any changes are reported to the DVLA including: change of name or address, any changes made to the vehicles eg. colour, or that you no longer have the vehicle . 

The V5C is not proof of ownership
