By now you should know the meaning of all traffic signs, be watching for them and adjusting your driving accordingly. Remember, circular signs (be they mandatory or prohibitory) must be complied with and therefore you cannot afford to miss seeing and abiding by these signs. Note particularly speed limit changes which are often at major road intersections (roundabouts, traffic lights, junctions and entering/leaving built-up areas).
Warning signs (triangular) are usually placed about 100m before the hazard and so there is time for you to apply the M-S-M routine and deal with the hazard safely.
Some information signs are important as they give (for instance) details as to when you can drive in bus/tram lanes. Note also any “2+” signs indicating the times vehicles with 2 persons or more are allowed to use certain lanes.
Make the reading of road signs an important part of your driving. Scrutinise the road ahead and familiarise yourself particularly with the likely location for speed limit signs.
