The Part Two Driving online training course will work in conjunction with the Part Two Workbook which has been designed to help you prepare for the Part Two test, so that you know exactly what standard you must achieve to pass.
The Workbook gives advice on all aspects of your driving and follows the DVSA’s form DL 25. This form is the examiner’s marking form for the Part Two test — see copy at the back of the Workbook.
As you read the Workbook and complete the written exercises, you should keep a copy of DL 25 to hand so that you can follow it through and understand fully what you are being tested on and what standard you must achieve. To pass the Part Two test you will have to demonstrate a high level of driving competence. This will be developed through instruction and practice with your trainer, by being fully conversant with the standard required and through plenty of private practice.
You will have to rediscover and master the systematic driving style you adopted when you first learnt to drive. Though you may have several driving faults your experience, general awareness and forward planning skills will almost certainly have combined to make you a more able, confident and “streetwise” driver than you were when you passed your driving test.
Our task now is to accentuate the positive elements of your driving and eliminate the negative. We must improve your knowledge and skills and ensure your attitude to your training and all other road users, is exemplary. From our experience with other Part Two test candidates, we have compiled a list of their common driving faults which are:
If you recognise these or any other faults in your driving, the sooner you start the disciplining process the better. However, the driving course you are about to follow is designed to prepare you fully for the demands of the test.
As you work your way through the in car training with your BDS Trainer you need to complete the Training Record Form – there are some at the back of your workbook.
